United States Army Funds Moberg Analytics to Develop TBI Advisor

We are excited to announce that we have received funding from the United States Army to explore how multimodal neuromonitoring might be deployed close to the point of injury in combat scenarios, through a TBI Advisor.

Multimodal monitoring of brain injured patients provides multiple “views” of brain status that can lead to more precise care. The commercial platform to view this data easily was pioneered by Moberg ICU Solutions, Dick’s former company, and is now used widely in civilian care. We received funding to perform a feasibility study to investigate which monitoring modalities could be deployed in a small portable unit to enhance the management of soldiers with brain injuries.

The project involves working with multiple companies that have technology that is or could be miniaturized for portability. Many of these companies are already being funded by the Army.  We are also working with experienced clinical teams both civilian and military to gain insight into their needs for prolonged field care.

Looking forward

The mission of Moberg Analytics is to create the most advanced data infrastructure to facilitate precision care of brain injured patients in multiple environments. This grant helps us explore the use of multimodal neuromonitoring in combat scenarios. We look forward to this exciting project to bring concepts we pioneered over the past 20 years into combat casualty care.
