Skipper Dick’s Sailing Club

I got my certification to charter large catamarans in late 2019. A lot happened since then (COVID, the new company) and my first sail as the captain got postponed.  With prodding from my old college roommate we finally picked a date and did the sail. Ethan and Craig (and his wife) joined the crew.  We sailed around the British Virgin Islands (my favorite place) with non-stop, food and fun.  We are hoping to do these sails once a year… and perhaps get a Cerebral Autoregulation Flotilla together. Anyone interested?

SOMA

Raleigh North Carolina | May 5-9

The Special Operations Medical Association (SOMA) Scientific Assembly, hosted in Raleigh North Carolina earlier this month, is the premier gathering for medical professionals dedicated to advancing tactical and austere medicine. This year’s assembly spotlighted cutting-edge research and clinical practices, with a particular emphasis on neurological trauma, traumatic brain injury (TBI) management, and neuroprotective strategies in high-stress operational environments. We had the privilege of attending the meeting and catching up with our colleagues and friends. Thank you to everyone that helped organize the meeting.

Society for Academic Emergency Medicine

Philadelphia May 13-16

We had the pleasure of hosting a fun reception for attendees at the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.  These attendees were all part of one or more SIREN-run clinical trials such as BOOST3 and PRECICECAP which use our Cloud Platform as the data archiving system.

We had an exciting BrainBall tournament where you use your EEG (more precisely your percent of alpha activity) to move a steel ball across a table.  If you are more relaxed than your opponent, it rolls away from you towards your goal.  Your opponent must relax under pressure to turn the ball around.
