Breaking News: Natus Acquires Micromed

The big news this past month was the acquisition of Micromed (who owned Moberg ICU Solutions) by Natus. This means one of the more widely used neurocritical care data aggregators, the CNS Monitor (also affectionately called the “Moberg”), is now in the hands of a global leader in neurology products. Natus also acquired the Camino ICP monitor from Integra a few years ago and, with the CNS Monitor, they will be a key player in the neurocritical care monitoring market. Your Editor (Dick Moberg) had the opportunity to speak at the Natus international sales meeting in late January where the product was enthusiastically received. We wish them well.

CNS Envision Data Analytics

We had the opportunity to see some new software from Moberg Research (now a part of Natus) for their Envision product. Thanks to Andrew Gaess for sending these screenshots.

The “pie charts” that show the percent of time in/out of a range or threshold are now more like gauges, and averages can be shown to the right.

New analytics are now available as shown in this screen. The percent of time a metric is within certain bands and the percent time AUC can be displayed. A smoothed PRx and correlations are also shown.

A flexible display for showing correlations between user-specified metrics is shown on the right.

An alternate combination of the new features are shown in this screenshot.
